Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique number that serves as proof of identity in India. It is one of the important documents that can be used while opening a bank account, applying for a passport, booking e-tickets, and many other places where there is a need to establish identity. However, if you have an Aadhaar card then it is important to have your mobile number registered with your Aadhaar number. It helps you to receive the one-time password (OTP) which you will have to use for verification purposes.
According to the UIDAI official website, "You can verify your email address and mobile number that has been declared at the time of enrolment or during the latest Aadhaar detail update."
Now, if you don't remember your registered mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card, then you need to worry because you can find out within minutes from the UIDAI website. All you need to do is follow the below-given steps.

Step 1: First, open any browser and visit the official website, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)
Step 2: On the homepage, below the Unique Identification Authority of India symbol tap My Aadhaar.
Step 3: A drop-down menu will appear on the screen, under Aadhaar Services, click Verify Registered mobile or email id.
Step 4: A new tab will open on your system. Here, enter your Aadhaar number and either mobile number or email ID, whichever you wish to verify.
Step 5: Next, enter the captcha code and click on Send OTP.
Now, if the mobile number entered by you matches with the records of the UIDAI, then it will flash on the screen that, "The mobile you have entered already verified with our records." However, in case the mobile number entered by you does not match with the UIDAI records, then it will say that the mobile number you have entered does not match with their records.
Keep in mind that the process of updating the mobile number cannot be done online. To update the mobile number you have to visit your nearest Aadhaar Centre.
